The AFL National Draft 2022 got underway on Monday night, with 21 young prospects finding new homes, including three father-son/Academy players.
GWS selected Aaron Cadman (Greater Western Victoria Rebels) with the number one pick, as the rest of the top five also went as expected, with Brisbane matching North Melbourne’s bid for father-son selection Will Ashcroft (Sandringham Dragons) at pick number two,
The Kangaroos used picks three and four to steal Harry Sheezel (Sandringham Dragons) and George Wardlaw (Oakleigh Chargers).
However, Essendon grabbed Elijah Tsatas with pick five despite having offers to trade out their first selection in the draft.
Round two, three, four, five, six and beyond will occur at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on Tuesday (7pm, November 29).
The Rookie Draft will be completed on Wednesday, November 30.
