Australian Open 2023 Schedule: Men’s top seeds and fixtures; Andy Murray v Matteo Berrettini

First round opponent: Andy Murray (Great Britain, world ranking 49)

He may be at the very back end of a wildly successful career, but Andy Murray is the definition of the term “dangerous floater”, giving the No.13 seed a huge test for last year’s Australian Open semi-finalist.

Berrettini has also been a Wimbledon finalist in the last two years and deserves to start favourite, but three-time grand slam champion Murray is in good form and will almost certainly have the benefit of a friendly crowd.
