That booked her ticket to the main event of WrestleMania almost three years after she last competed in the ring.
However, a switch allegedly led to her not attending WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony, The Sun reports.
Brian Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio described Rousey’s reaction to discovering Stone Cold Steve Austin’s comeback match would instead be topping the bill.
“She discovered she was no longer scheduled to go on last on Friday, and, in a shocking development, walked out of Friday’s taping before the Hall of Fame ceremony unfolded,” he said,
“Clearly, ‘cooler heads’ did indeed ‘prevail’.”
Rousey replied to the speculation and tweeted: “I don’t know where these ‘reports’ come from but it was an absolute honour to perform under Steve Austin at WrestleMania in Texas.
“I wasn’t at hall of fame because I have a six-month-old baby I had to put to sleep early. People are literally creating drama out of thin air.”
Rousey made headlines around the world when she swapped the Octagon for the squared-circle back in January 2018.
The UFC icon was part of the historic main event of WrestleMania 35 against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in 2019.
Rousey then took time away from wrestling to start a family with her husband, fellow MMA fighter Travis Browne, and the couple celebrated the arrival of their baby girl La’akea in September.
